Chikako Yamashiro’s Recalling(s) – Theatrical Version explores the layered memories of war across Okinawa, Tokyo and Palau. Combining video, testimony, performance, music and comedy across multiple screens, the work brings together different voices, bodies and landscapes connected to the history of the Second World War. Originally presented as an installation at Artizon Museum in 2025, this new theatrical version has been adapted for Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, with audiences moving through the space as the performance unfolds.
