Hibiya Art Park 2026: Timeless Phenomena

Hibiya Art Park 2026: Timeless Phenomena

from Tokyo Metropolitan Government

November 13 - 29

Hibiya Park becomes an open-air art space with Hibiya Art Park 2026: Timeless Phenomena, an exhibition bringing together contemporary art, nature and the changing atmosphere of the city. Presented as part of Tokyo's Flower and Light Movement and ARTE TOKYO, the project explores the relationship between human beings, nature and our perception of time. Three artists, Takashi Kuribayashi, Rui Sasaki and Taiki Yokote, present site-specific installations throughout the park, encouraging visitors to encounter art while walking through its gardens and public spaces. With flowers, natural elements and lighting woven into the exhibition, the park takes on a different atmosphere throughout the day and into the evening. Rather than experiencing the works in a traditional gallery setting, visitors are invited to explore the park at their own pace and discover how art can change the way we see familiar surroundings. The exhibition is directed by architect Yuko Nagayama, with curatorial collaboration from Kensho Tanbara.
